    "@value" : "By the time Juan Gris became known as a painter at the Salon des Indépendants in 1912, his work was fully Cubist and steeped in the intellectual reflection that would mark his entire oeuvre.  A year later Guillaume Apollinaire devoted a section to him in Les Peintres cubists, defining him as “the man who has meditated on everything modern.” \n\nThe present small Still Life on paper repeats the same vertical, geometrical composition of other works by the artist dated 1913 and is directly related to a charcoal drawing made the same year, now in a private collection.  Both compositions display several objects, some portrayed in a fairly realistic manner. Although it is not a papier collé, Chistopher Green believes that it is not a preparatory sketch for another work but an independent drawing in its own right, like many others Gris made in 1913. \n\nThe painting’s first owner, the dealer Daniel-Henry Kahnweiler, certified the drawing and its authorship was confirmed in 1976 by the historian Douglas Cooper and in 1993 by Georges González Gris. \n\nPaloma Alarcó"

Un año más tarde Guillaume Apollinaire le dedicaba un apartado en Les Peintres cubistes, y lo definía como «el hombre que ha meditado sobre todo lo moderno».\n\nEste pequeño Bodegón sobre papel repite la misma composición vertical y geométrica de otras obras de Juan Gris fechadas en 1913 y está directamente relacionado con otro dibujo realizado en carboncillo ese mismo año, perteneciente a una colección privada. En ambas composiciones aparecen varios objetos, algunos representados de forma bastante realista. Aunque no se trata de un papier collé, Chistopher Green considera que no es un boceto previo de otra obra, sino un dibujo independiente, con entidad propia, como lo eran también otros muchos realizados por Gris en 1913.\n\nEl marchante del pintor y el primer propietario del cuadro, Daniel-Henry Kahnweiler, certificó el dibujo, y su autoría fue confirmada en 1976 por el historiador Douglas Cooper y por George González Gris en 1993.\n\nPaloma Alarcó"
